Floods: "cc's perspective"....
currently sat in a services near Monmoth having failed to get to see a clinet in Blaenavon.....followed the M50 down from the midlands, can see the river severn is 5-6 times as wide covering large amounts of fields..... so tewkesbury, gloucester and worcester (close to where i live) getting it bad, many roads impassable....
Had to drive throw a flooded road that had previously been closed near abergavenny this morning....then only 3 miles fro the client trying to get over the Blaenaven Heights (very high steep windy roads over moorland) so uch snow and ice, cars coming the other way using centre of the road and sliding down. Most driven by OAP's looking petrified....had to stop and reverse back down the mountain side which was a bit disconcerting.....and turned round, headed back and here i am....called the client to say I couldnt make it.....
its really s**tty down in these parts at the mo, loads of houses flooded on the banks of the river wye near ross-on-wye and monmouth.....
right, off back to wet-worcestershire..... what a waste of a day!
