I was brought onto the left wing as the 1st of 4 subs last Sat when we were 1-0 up...
...ended up losing 1-3. None of them were my fault* but it didn't stop me feeling gutted and that the chances of me getting further minutes on the pitch, especially in a forward position had diminished (despite having scored a few good goals in training in recent weeks). Not sure if this translates any further/at all with the City subs - maybe in terms of predictable line-ups ...does that make me Becchio?! Although our team's confidence is just as fragile.
*Our keeper let a simple ball slip through his body for a tap-in - after he'd pulled off a number of fine saves to keep us in the game/ahead. Hmmm Ruddy parallels there!
Then he was hard done by as he had the ball in both hands on the floor only for the attacker to kick it out of his hands for their 2nd. The goal stood but shouldn't've. Unlucky parallels drawn.
Third was a punted finish into the top corner from an attack down the other side of the pitch, making full use of the strong winds.
