full backs are increasingly important in an attacking sense and wingers cutting inside opens up more space for them to overlap and provide width. When I watched Man City at the weekend their full backs constantly pushed up to the extent that they ended up with 6 in midfield while in possession. All these tactical trends just tie in I suppose.
