Circumstances now are different to when Lambert was

here. The Prem season under lambert we were finding our feet at the top level. Lots of unknowns about the top level ability of the players that got us promoted. We all know now that Hoolahan can cut it in this league and change games in an instant. So when Wes is on the bench, Cautious Chris has gone into a match with the mindset that we must keep the shape, not take risks, have what we hold, sit deep etc then predictably concede, he's still very reluctant to use Wes. Also, when Wes does play, woe betide he make one slight error of judgement on the pitch knowing he'll be dropped in an instant unlike many of our more defensive midfielders who make mistakes on a regular basis.
