I?ve had a two day sales trip and so used the car time to listen to Colin?s The Gaffer (I must admit I?ve always admired the guy). There were a few NCFC mentions:

He moaned about how Holt goes to ground whilst recalling a defeat at CR. Basically, he referred to Holt as a very clever player but who has the speed of a snail.

The famous NCFC interview got another airing. The panel asked what the fans would think of a Warnock?s NCFC, to which he replied something like: what, a winning one for a change! We went on to appoint Rioch.

Bassong was all set to join NW at QPR (the window they got Barton). Everything was agreed but Spurs were waiting on signing their man which they didn?t so Redknapp called the deal off so he had him as cover. We benefited from this non move later.

He mentioned a QPR trip to Norwich where they weren?t let out of the train station by some ?jobsworth?. Someone had to sprint back to the train to collect the paperwork. Everyone was agitated and they then stayed at a hotel where the joe public were asking for autographs, boozing, giving stick etc during the team meal and the next day we beat them!

More moaning, this time about the Barton sending off at Loftus Rd a couple of years back. Barton had rightly got the hump after our guys were not penalised for some over the top fouls against him prior to the Johnson set to.

He clearly rated Snodgrass during his brief spell as manager at Leeds. He did all he could to keep him but he should have known that he wanted to ?join his mates at Norwich?.

Painted Becchio out to be a bit of a bad egg to force a transfer from Leeds. NW had enquired about Morison but CH wouldn?t let him go unless he got cover. NW got a third party to mention Becchio to someone at NCFC and the deal was on with Leeds also getting cash (it was painted as a bit of clever move, Warnock did not want to suggest it for fear of then not being able to maximise the deal when all the time he wanted rid).
