Sad day

Went to Newcastle today and the train I was on travelling from Kings Cross suddenly came to an abrupt stop at a place called Arlesey, not far from Peterborough.

Why? All of a sudden whilst the train was cruising along at 125 mph, the driver slammed the breaks on, then there was a thud, the train continued to break vigourosly and drew to an abrupt halt.

Moments later, we were informed by the guard that the train we were on had knocked someone down and killed them.
