Yes, because i don't intend to become fluent in either lingo

but I enjoy making communication where there'd been none. The Czech guy speaks better English than most of his English workmates, as does one of the Poles. Of the other two Poles (we used to employ a dozen, but most of them have gone home or changed jobs), I talk to one of them in dodgy German and the other barely speaks at all.

So I went up to him one day and said "Nie padoma mi siown tutay, to iest guvno. Pratsuyemmy dla idiotow i benkartow" (that I learned from the other two) and he looked absolutely delighted. whenever we pass, we exchange pleasantries and tell each other the time in Polish.
