Y'know cars what have got clever steering-wheel-stalk buttons for controlling the radio?

If you change the radio unit that came with the car for, like a jazzier model, that might perhaps play these new Compactualized Discs I've been hearing about - will the steering-wheel mounted controls still work? Hmm?
