pretty much the only way Dyer could score first time was with a lob. He would have had to take a touch or try a very awkward volley if Ruddy was on his line, and the defence (Olsson?) would then have probably been able to recover.

I think Bassong is fit, just a bit error prone. Which is why he plays for us and not a top club.
