It's all about risk, reward to me

Changing management is a huge risk in my opinion, and should only ever be done if clearly the manager is unqualified for the job in the first place (eg Gunn, although always an NCFC legend for his playing career, and signing Holty!), with Hughton past few seasons it's been less clear tbf, but one thing for sure from where I'm standing is he has turned the team around from the way Lambert set us up in the past.

Two very different styles, and he needed time to do that which he's had, so providing we are not in Fulham, Sunderland, Palace's shoes etc, I really don't see why forcing another change would be helpful until we find someone of much greater quality to help us push on further. I am sure McNally will have his man lined up ready and in place or at least closely monitored before making any snap decisions this time. Too much at stake.

The Gunn decision was clearly required at the time as I very much doubt McNally would have ever given him the job in the first place. I'm just glad we're looking likely to stay in this league again so we can continue to buy well (hopefully) and build incrementally into a strong premier league club. There will obviously come a time when someone of better standings can take us further in the league and when that time comes I'd be less worried about swapping managers every season like the big clubs do because they can afford it and demand instant success, to be fair, we can't and probably never will in this current financial inequality that exists with foreign investment into the premier league.
