there's El Patio and the Phone Box pub about 400 yds up providencia on the left side

if you want the "english" experience. Beer's decent at least in both. There's a load more heading down Providencia on Manuel Montt to the left too. Some decent, some not.
Bellavista (close to Plaza italia) is full of clubs, restos and bars, for all tastes and all pockets (so beware!).
Up towards Tobalaba there are a few more - the 'irish' pub Flannery's, again, if you like that ex-pat experience...
Liguria's a fine place though
