my mate contracts locally (in Tewkesbury) in IT.....
he would agree, higher hourly rate - but depends on pension scheme a comanyy has - whether its contributory or not - - he's now opted for full time employment for the same reason - really good pension scheme thats worth a fair few thou a year.... takes home less, but at least its guaranteed, with a good pension, and he doesnt have to flick fanny fart around every 4-6 months findin a new contract that could take him anywhere...
