if we had brought dav and doc up, there is no doubt that coventry would have brought players back to deal with them - leaving, at most, one player up front. We could have left brennan and drury back to deal with that threat. Instead, Coventry, knowing they only really had to mark ashton and thorne, could afford to leave more men forward. The ball went to mcVeigh, as there were so few options for robinson to find, and he obviously lost, leading to a counter attack. Which would not have been possible a) if we had more taller men to aim for in the box and b) because Cov would have had to bring plauyers back to mark them.

I t was a classic example of handing away the initiative by simply inept tactics.
