It's the lack of structuring innings that I find staggering

I know that 20//20 cricket has changed test cricket in terms if run rates etc but the shot selection is abysmal. What the hell is Broad doing playing hook shots in the first over of a day when we still had a very outside chance of a draw. Playing such shots is not brave it just shows a complete lack of stomach for the fight.

Same with Cook yesterday. First over and he's out hooking. awful.

At least signs of Prior finding a bit of touch. Surely at least a couple of our batsmen can bounce back in the next match. Could also do with Cook winning the toss!
