it comes down to the footballing CVs
1. both are pretty much failed managers (I know different job etc)
2. neither has a great track record of coaching at this level.
3. Trollope has no experience as a player, manager , coach of working at this level, or with players at this level.
4. Calderwood was tactically inept as a manger, his only success being a well funded Forest in league 1. Northampton well poor under him, and I maintain his Hibs team were the most negative I have ever seen in mindset or approach.
5. Both as managers were rigid 4-4-2 men
6. Players do not seem to show much evidence of improving the basics week in week out - same mistakes repeated over and over again.
