Can we stop this "I'd rather be in the Championship" nonsense now please?

The same gibberish was being spoken in 2004/5. And in 1995, people really BELIEVED that we were "on loan to the Endsleigh" for a year - but we weren't.

Where we are now isn't a Premier League thing. Sorry, it's not. It's a Norwich City under this management thing - just as it was a Norwich City under Nigel Worthington thing the last time this happened in this division. It's our CHOICE to approach these games in such a spineless, timid way; we're even spineless and timid at home too, but there we tend to just about get away with it.

How many other clubs have gone through an entire Premier League season winning zero away games, as we did in 04/5? How many other clubs have conceded 21 goals in 7 away games this season? How many other clubs in this league treat every single away game against a top 6 or 8 side as a write-off before it even kicks off?

And yes, those games are difficult; very difficult. I don't expect us to win them or even draw them; I do expect us to COMPETE. Everyone else plays 38 games a season; Norwich City under this management team play more like 30. It's disgraceful. And while, I agree, Leroy Fer is rapidly turning into a Damien Francis-style arsehole, I highly doubt he joined this club in order to be part of a squad whose whole approach is sit deep, try (and very often, fail) to keep it tight game after game after game after game.

You know WHY people want the Championship back? It's because this approach - and that of Worthington before it - is not Norwich City. "Never mind the danger"? Could've fooled me - and if we're not prepared to take any risks at all, if we're not prepared to go for it, if we view these matches not as the huge opportunities they represent, but merely as enormous difficulties, there's no point.

What is our purpose? What are we in this division to do? What is football? Just a joyless, corporate business, or an entertainment?
