The defamatory reference to Delia

Should be removed from this 'editorial comment' forthwith, although no-one could argue that the rest of the content reflects the current depth of feeling and should stand.

PLEASE - Don't take pot shots at the 'soft target'. Unlike Worthington, Delia and Michael truly, madly, deeply love this club. As passionately as any one of us here; reflect upon what they have already given (not just in terms of cash). Correct me if I'm wrong, but at the end of the day, majority shareholders don't carry any greater voting rights or necessarily hold any greater sway with the opinions of the club hierarchy as a whole. In fact, since D & M nail their hearts so prominently to their scarves, their perpetual loyalty is probably taken for granted.

I greatly sympathise with both Delia and Michael. I imagine that they are in a very difficult position. As they hold, arguably, the highest 'profiles' at this football club - we conveniently forget that neither is the chairman or chief executive. Yet the moment either party was to publically make the smallest utterance in opposition to Nigel Worthington's continued employment, the game's most surely up. The end might be drawn out, but the snowball's gathering pace. Hey, I care not one jot for Mr Worthington, but too many people with influence obviously still do.

BUT I am sure that the bonds which hold both to this club are greater than any transient friendships or misplaced loyalties, so we can't assume this will never happen. Human nature will prevail.

Fingers crossed, eh?
