try....

1. See if Wifi works
2. See if ethernet works

If neither work then then do virus checks etc. and check her firewall settings. Also try more than one web browser.

If Ethernet works and only a problem with connecting to her Mum's wifi AND yours then prob a wifi setting on the computer or a faulty on/off wifi card button.

You could also try tethering the computer to a mobile phone via USB (if the phone allows tethering) to make a wifi connection.

You could also try plugging in a USB wifi dongle (cost about ?10).
