My first and last tennis post

Was at the 02 tonight for the ATP gayoff final between Nadal + Djokavic. First time I?ve ever been to a professional tournament, and probably the last as well. Not that I didn?t enjoy the evening, I did. It?s just not really my sport. Apart from watching my girls play.

Had a free ticket thanks to an old pal who was over from Prague. He is a very good player and competes at a decent level back home.

The tickets were front row on the corner so we had a good view. The last time I was there it was the millennium dome and the arena wasn?t as big as I?d imagined it to be now it?s the 02.

As for the tennis, Djovakic was very solid, didn?t make many mistakes and Nadal looked decidedly second best for the whole match. The second set was like slow death once Djovakic had the early break, there looked to be very little chance he would lose his serve. Nadal didn?t seem to be moving that well, maybe he was carrying an injury from the last round or just jaded. Or just knew he was very much second best in the match.

I?ll go back now to being a tennis lurker and leave the incisive commenting to the pros.
