It should be fine on a TV, a few tips...
On the computer set your computer screen resolution to 1920?1080 (which is full HD).
Use the Ethernet port to connect to your router (I use homeplugs for this as the router is in a different room to the TV and computer).
You can download a free XBMC app to use a mobile phone as a remote control (but I've not yet tried that).
