I'm not convinced this falls into any of the categories. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather it hadn't happened, but if the ref genuinely believed it was unsporting conduct, that's a misconduct issue punishable with a yellow card. To say it was because he hadn't blown his whistle to restart play is nonsense. We've all been to enough matches to know a ref doesn't blow his whistle to restart play at every throw in. It was a convenient excuse because he didn't like the outcome, which is fundamentally wrong.

Goal should have stood, and then we should probably have let them walk one in. Still like I say a non-issue in terms of the result, but the ref shouldn't be doing what he did IMO.
