Hughton has spent over ?20 million on attacking players
including the likes of RVW, Hooper, Snodgrass and Redmond. So surely he has to take responsibility for the lack of goals? He does also set the team up and is supposed to motivate and inspire these players, after all.
You can go on about great keeping performances all you like, but that's the norm for a premier league keeper. After all, we see it most weeks with Ruddy in goal for us.
The thing for me is that we don't create enough unstoppable shots, the only one that I can think of from this season was the RVW header. Marshall did make a couple of very good saves today, but a lot were also straight at him. Whether that's because our players lack composure or if enough time hasn't been spent on finishing in training, I don't know, but there can't be anymore excuses with the money that has been spent.
I'm not saying that Hughton should be sacked based on today or even our start to the season, but if we can't gain 4 points from our November fixtures then he's surely on borrowed time? Surely we can beat Palace, at least?
