If it's a slipped disc (or prolapsed vertebrae or whatever that is), it'll take a while to heal. A colleague of mine had it and she was off for quite a while and still can't sit down for long periods.
Of course, I'm not a doctor and it's probably something else entirely. Good luck with it.
