Ask W.Ham, S'hampton, Crewe...
They have decades of experience in training young kids to top division, first team standards. Time and time again.
Chelsea just buy "this years" wonderkids, then spend 30mil on Millian, Eto, De Bruyn etc. So Gael Kakuta et al don't get a look.
Name me 3x Chelsea players in the last 30yrs that came from a 10yrold to first team regular?
I reckon, if you add up the potential transfer fees for W.Ham, they would conclude that the Academy has been extremely successful and great value for money. Chelsea can't say the same, but then, they had the money to snap up Victor Moses when he grew up.
All comes down to coaching, simple as. If you have great coaches, they'll have more chance of getting a great young prospect at the end of it.
Nice post.
