He could have taken off Elmander, who was having an absolute mare and given Howson a run out in the attacking midfield position.

He could have brought Pilks on, and moved Redmond behind RvW. He could have brought on Hooper for the ineffectual RvW.

We had the strongest bench in our history yesterday, and people still think subs can't make a difference.
