OK, I'll try and kick things off
i only watched him play for Lisbon the once. I posted on here that I hoped he scores early for us, because he's not what we're used to. I didn't say any more than that because at the time you just couldn't discuss Nodge on here without hordes of people shouting Heretic at you.
But i did think he might struggle, not for lack of ability - he has bags of that - but because unless we changed things a lot, we looked to be the wrong team for him. Then I read that Neeskens advised him to come here, and I thought, well, I'm not going to argue with HIM.
It's telling, I think, that his goal came from a cross that was a mishit shot: he reacted quickly and finished superbly. Bonzer, I thought, get the ball in quickly and he'll have an advantage over defenders. But then Benno got crocked and Hoots went straight back to inverted wingers, taking too long to deliver. That's not giving him a chance to play to what appear to be his strengths.
Early days, of course.
This post is in no way intended to be negative, to be critical of anyone or anything attached to NCFC, even Hoots. It is merely an Early Impression, based on too little evidence. It's for discussion. Discuss away.
