Don't see how people can stick up for Hughton
We endured a torrid time last season with one win in eighteen, all down to zero creativity and a ridiculously cautious approach. Many argued that had we hit that run earlier in the season, then Hughton would have already been gone.
Next, he gets VERY lucky with the fixture list - two games against clubs (WBA and Man City) that had already started their summer holidays. Let's be honest, the 11th place finish was very flattering. The night Wigan played Arsenal midweek, we were all nail-biting and praying for 17th! Teams around us were scrapping for their lives whilst we remained laboured and negative.
Back to business this season, and Hughton clearly has not learnt a thing. With ?25m spent, this standard of play will not be tolerated for long. How many games before he learns that it doesn't work? We kept two clean sheets away last year against the worst two sides in the league. And we didn't win either of them.
Yes it's only two games, but the tactics are plain to see.
Sorry - just letting it all out......i'm sure it won't all be so bad in a few hours.........
