Seriously. Paul Lambert does really well out of it and he's definitely brighter than he lets on. Much easier to dodge questions etc when people think you're basically an idiot.

Unfortunately with some managers, it's very difficult to tell if it's an act or not. Steve Bruce is probably one of those ones.
