Grant Holt
We already knew that:
his family live in the NW
GH is prepared to move often, and across vast distances, and so was never likely to do a Huckerby
our football under CH is much less entertaining than under Lambert
the Wigan move gave Holt the chance to play at Wembley and in Europe, and the chance of Wigan getting promoted is high
We can now establish that:
GH wanted to move on, life at NCFC had clearly dulled for him
playing in Lambert's sides was more to GH's liking than under CH
We can guess that:
the additional year he is contracted to Wigan will put an extra 600,000 quid into his back pocket
the signing-on fee (10% traditionally) would be an extra 200,000 (gross)
Is anyone still surprised or resentful that he moved? Really?
