I'm not a fan of using the iPad to read books

much prefer my Kindle as easier on the eyes for basic text. I've just found that the iPad is a little heavy for most situations that I want to use it and I have a nice desktop computer for everything else. If you don't have a flat/stable surface to prop it up then it's somewhat cumbersome to use it one handed. Most people seem to use laptops though and the iPad is better for most things.

A lot of people like the Kindle Fire HD, but I don't agree with the customised Android version they use. You *could* change it, but most people wouldn't be able or willing to do that and it voids the warranty.
