I agree. I think the idea behind Fer is that

he'll be able to do more things (i.e. box-to-box), score goals, while doing the things that Johnson and Tettey do, but better so we wouldn't have to rely so much on 2 defensive midfielders as much as we did last season. That and that fact that competition for places is usually a good thing.

I think Tettey and Johnson will be competing for a spot, but Fer will be first choice,
