What does ?5m buy you these days? Palace have spent ?7/?8m on Dwight Gayle who's had barely a season in the Championship.
We're probably unlikely to sign a player for ?400k that finishes as our top scorer for 3 consecutive seasons at this level.
As long as we don't start to sign a player like Jarvis for ?10m or whatever it was WHU paid, I won't be too unhappy.
