people are confusing different things here

he is announcing various things to try and tackle illegal images (eg child abuse). Stuff like search engines having to introduce further measures to block illegal content,
the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre being given more powers, and better using images found by police to trace illegal content and the paedophiles viewing it.

But the filter thing is different - I think his argument is that society would be helped if children were better protected from online porn.

Dunno if any of it will work, but I do know I feel uneasy (including as a parent) about how available and ubiquitous porn is now.
