...is Nige a bit of a "stand around and talk a lot to the players" coach or does he have them do lots of short, sharp repetitions ?

One sure fire way of getting muscle pulls is to warm up, then stand around for 10 minutes listening to the coach rattle on and then be expected to do sprints, etc.
