depends what you prefer
PES5 is a lot more realistic, some think too realistic (i.e. you give away loads of fouls and the game is sometimes quite broken up), but at the same time you are much more in control than in fifa.
fifa is good if you're about 10 and like scoring from 40 yards on a regular basis with little effort, and if you value graphics over gameplay.
