Stop watching then. That is what Martin does. There's some serious major

character killings coming up at the end of series 3.

That is what he does: hundreds of characters, and kill off major ones every now and again. If you object to that, stop watching, because it doesn't stop with Ned Stark.

Martin being who he is, you can't often be entirely sure that characters he has "killed off" are actually really dead, there's one death coming up in series 3 that isn't quite what it seems, but it won't get explained until series 4 or 5, if they stick to the books.

But not Ned Stark. He is dead as dead, unless there's a massive unexpected plot twist in book 6 or 7 (as yet unreleased/unwritten)
