I resisted the temptation to use mine until the final whistle.
And then I thought that some volunteer had put it there for me and it would have been rude not to have used it so I did some clapping with it. Weirdly, it took more energy to use the clapper than it did to use my own hands.
Part of me thinks they're silly but they've been put there for a reason and they certainly made a difference. They're football's equivalent to a pencil grip but if they get people making noise, great.
