what's worrying about that is

that there are ostensibly intelligent people in decision-making positions (in banks presumably) willing to lend to them. Even at exhorbitant interest rates, surely it raises every red flag going?!

Not that banks ever make bloody daft lending decisions in the pursuit of profit, oh no...
