comes from of looking at the stats to see where things are going wrong and how you can fix it, obviously it can help but Football is a far too fluid and variable game to apply telling statistical analysis to and without some form of opinion and experience to back it up then as you say you can be very selective and tell a different story to someone else. I can see from watching football all my life that Bassong and Turner are our best CB partnership since probably 1994.
