I think Wes had a better season last year. And I think maybe
Pilks and Benno needed time to get used to playing as forwards rather than wingers. They both had trouble last season when we played the diamond too. Which is why Surman and even Crofts were getting games.
Surman being out has taken away an option too. Holt has actually, in my opinion, hardly touched the ball with his feet this season. Last year Morison got all the stick because he was being deployed as a lone striker. Now it has been Holt. Finally we've found Kamara who seems to be able to play that role. And Howson in defensive midfield is just something he is clearly not comfortable with.
And maybe an odd thing to bring up, but Kyle Naughton shouldn't be underestimated. He linked defence to attack very very well....
