Midfield is the most important area of the pitch. It is where you build a team from. It should be your starting point. Worthy's treating of it as an optional extra that you may (or apparently may not) fell like tagging ona t the end makes him unfot to manage a modern day football team. He got lucky in 2003/4 because:
1) the tactic-free approach of hoofing balls at Hucks and/or a big striker inexplicably worked pretty much all year
2)we had almost no injuries in defence or midfield, meaning that our total lack of depth there was never exposed
Those freakish circumstances are never likely to be repeated again and since Worthy seemingly hasn't got much else to offer nor is any success at this club while he remains.
