Petrol in a diesel does more damage unless you are lucky like what I was.

Destroys your complicated ultra high pressure fuel pump as diesel has lubrication in it that petrol doesn't.
Diesel in petrol just makes it run lumpy (if at all) and makes s**t loads of smoke.
