The whole point of defending is to deny goal scoring opportunities - there needs to be a

breach of the laws associated with the incident, otherwise most defensive tackles near goal would be red card offences. Bunn's arms weren't in a natural position (for a non-goalkeeper), and even though the ball touched his arm because of a ricochet, it could be construed as an offence.

Can't see that Bassong's was a penalty. There was no intent to control it with his arm - it looked as if he was trying to chest it back to Camp, and it hit his arm because of a ricochet. And then there's the preceding offside.
