The way I saw it, and the (mostly Geordie) fans in the bar saw it,
was that we spent the first half trying to shut up shop, and hope that we could pounce on a mistake by their back 4. We almost managed that twice. The worst wasted opportunity was the badly hit cross from Johnno when we had two unmarked at the far post So, final third failed but I could at least see his gameplan.
Third quarter of the game I thought we were doing pretty well and had a few (half, or three quarter) chances, plus the glaring miss. Then Hootun went 4-4-2 and made TWO subsitituions in only the 72nd minute (kin warz!) and tried to go for it, but exposed us a bit and we got done properly including, let's face it, a wonderful goal from Rooney who was afforded the time and space he wouldn't have been while we were parking the bus.
We're not gonna get relegated on point difference, so what the f**k are we all complaining about ? At this stage if we're gonna have a s**t game let's do it at Old Trafford and not at home to Southampton or suffern.
I'm gonna have steak and chips and watch a fillum or suffern.
