Ashton to Wigan and other rumours
I don't believe there is any truth in this one at all. If we have a sell on clause meaning 20% goes to Crewe, that means we need to sell for 5m just to make 1m. (Unless it is 20% of profit) and why would we want to do that? So 4m to Wigan is total bowl larks.
I believe that Nigel doesn't have to get rid of anyone else. I believe he doesn't want to get rid of anyone else. I believe he runs the team and chooses who stays. I believe he has names in mind. I believe he will get in the required people.
I believe that unless a very good offer comes in for someone he wants to keep, or unless one of the foreign players wants to go home, he will do whatever he can to fight a sale.
We all know the long term advantage of keeping our players for next season, especially the board, so I doubt they will be in too much of a hurry to accept any offers.
Deano need not be in a hurry to go anywhere next season - he is only 22. He may well do very well at a Premiership club, but he can also do very well at Norwich and help us become Premiership again.
Green and England is a tricky one. He doesn't need to rush and Robinson and James are there ahead of him for now anyway. Svem knows what he is about, so should be happy to keep him in the squad as long as his form stays good. CCC will see a few more clean sheets to ohopefully, so another confidence boost.
And probably the best way for him to train for an international game is to go in goal vs. future England striker Deano every day at work ;) lol
Here's hoping there are not any surprises leaving the club and here's to a couple of nice surprises coming in.
Roll on August.
