My dad had a 'routine' op under general anaesthetic the other day
Given his history and general condition, we're more than a little nervous about him having anaesthetic. Still, had to happen as it was an emergency op.
Went down at 4pm. Was told it was a 20min procedure, so with recovery time, back just after 5 was the plan.
6pm came. Getting a little nervous.
7pm came. More than a little nervous. Bad thoughts going through mind. Ward nurses had no info.
8pm came. Starting to panic. Very bad thoughts going through head. Nurses still weren't saying anything.
8:15. Nurses get a phone call. We was taken back to a different ward, and had been there since 5:45.
That was fun... and not at all sweary and stressful...
