I do hate to bang on on familiar subjects (which I do, I know)

but I've been musing on the sodding buggering Inverted Wingers thing (or whatever it's called) and so, with the fixture list in another tab, I'm going to set myself up to be a tit here. I'm testing a theory, live, if you like. Bear in mind my faulty memory, sorry.

Nodgey goals from open play - where the assists came from:

QPR - none
Spuds - right-foot cross from right
Luton, Liverpool, NCassell - none
West Ham - right-foot cross from right
Man City - can't remember, didn't watch it live, had 2nd Xmas dinner instead
Baggies - none (FK, wasn't it?)
Wiggum - can't remember Pilks' goal; Wes's came from left-foot cross from left
Swans - Whitaker, solo goal; Bassong, right-foot cross from right; Holt, from a free kick; Snodds, free kick
Sunderland - Bassong, from a FK; Pilks, solo goal iirc

That's enough - you get my drift. We don't often score from open play, and when we do it's from a ball in by someone playing on his good side. Inverted wingers create very little.

Hard hat on, point out where I was wrong, I apologise in advance.
