I'm not too down abut yesterday either, but there are still concerns
Yes, we did exactly what I expected us to and I suspect we did exactly what Arry thought we'd do too, and Pardew, and the Luton bloke. We are so predictable. Well, that's OK if it's effective, and a draw away isn't a bad result. A draw against Fulham won't be a *bad* result either, but a win would obv be better.
The concern is the apparent lack of any desire to go for the win. Of course he wants to win but he seems to set up in such a way that we scrap for a point and if we score one, that's a bonus. But he doesn't give us many options in going for that goal; and if Bunn hadn't saved the penno, is anyone confident that we'd have equalised yesterday?
I'm not saying we wouldn't, because he will commit players forward looking for a leveller, but that can be left too late. But when we aren't losing he tends to keep the same shape, players still in position. So, when QPR had us penned back yesterday and we were playing pretty much on the break, Benno was still on his wrong side - and when we got a breakaway, and his pace got him into a promising position, Benno had to stop his surge and cut inside and the chance was lost and the pressure on our defence resumed. I did a big shout in annoyance.
Look, I think we'll be all right but nobody can be confident that we're safe. I'd feel a lot better if Hoots ever gave me reason to believe that he can change things during play.
One other thing of concern yesty - didn't our MF struggle in the tackle a bit?
