I think the problem is

I didn't see him score anything out of the blue on that there video - nothing like, say, the one Henderson scored on Saturday.

This doesn't mean he CAN'T do it; he may not need to - he may dovetail so well with the rest of the team that they'll find him because of his superb positioning. But it's a bit of a gamble.

I admit I would prefer a striker who can occasionally produce something out of nothing. That can demoralise the opposition & change the course of a game, one where you've been under the cosh.
They tend to be expensive though. ...
