the problem they faced was that they only give racists an eight game ban

so if they had gone higher, people would have been kicking off that racism is seen as a less serious offence.

Plus if the ref had seen it he would have been sent of for violent conduct which carries a 3 match ban.

so although it looks lenient, in reality it`s probably the correct punishment.

I`m sure Stoke would have been kicking off if he had gone on to score the winning goal though.
